    The Future of Affordable Housing, (8:55 AM-9:50 AM in the Grand Ballroom), immediately following the Opening Session at Emphasys Users Connect 2008:

    This engaging special session is designed to focus attendees on the Future of Affordable Housing under the new paradigm of Asset-Based Management, the mortgage crisis, and the need to be environmentally proactive. Session speakers, including Colorado State Housing and Finance Officials and the Executive Directors of Housing Colorado and the Denver Housing Authority, will engage the audience in a thought-provoking and timely panel discussion.

    The panel will focus its remarks on the “Future of Affordable Housing,” relative to where we are today, the vision for the future and the roadmap to get there. The discussion will highlight successes with programs of increasing popularity relative to the state of the economy and environment to include energy performance and “go-green” grants.

    With the current economy focused on Housing and the Mortgage industry, the speakers will provide comments regarding their views and experience on the impact of the mortgage crisis for first-time homebuyers and affordable housing programs. The session will conclude with discussion on portfolio diversification benefits as we continue building a new foundation for the future of affordable housing.

    This session was very informative and interesting. Although there may have been some issues that were specific to Colorado, it certainly was thought provoking to hear about all of these partners working in cooperation to try to do the best that they can for Colorado’s citizens.
